UK Letchworth based electronic music producer Howard Dodd grew up in East Sussex and has operated under the Anoesis moniker since 1994. Throughout his teenage years a love for electronic music led Howard to make many home cassette recordings using simple keyboards and self created instruments. After moving to London and playing keyboards in various London based bands, Howard returned to his original interest in electronics and began releasing dance music as Anoesis on West London's D*fusion label. Howard picked up a steady global following, particularly in the US where his music became dancefloor favourites on the experimental breaks scene. Following the 1997 drum and bass release Shatter on Octopus (a Fabio favourite at Speed London), Howard took a break from vinyl and made a number of releases on the Vorbic net label, under multiple artist names. Continuing interest in his 90s work from the likes of Maceo Plex led to reissues of Anoesis and Oxidation recordings on Semmi Sellang (Budapest), Cosmic Soup (London) and Spray (Berlin). More recently two new albums on Cosmic Soup and the Australian based Paper-Cuts label returned to the intensity of house music, cut up beats, and nods to cinema and soundscapes. Howard has been involved with remixes from and for Bassbin Twins, D. Tiffany, DMS12, The Nextmen and Organic Audio, and was also a member of Tongue (with Tom Withers aka Klute), and the field recording duo Howard Dodd and Keith de Mendonca.
