Carla Jayne

Carla Jayne is an Edmonton-based singer-songwriter who uses her folk country roots to explore her small town upbringing in Hanna, Alberta. Her catchy melodies and timeless lyrics evoke the work of Sheryl Crow, Brandi Carlile and Joni Mitchell. Her FACTOR-funded debut EP, Chinooks and Sea Monsters, was recorded at Royal Studios and set for release on April 17, 2024. Building her experience while completing a Bachelor of Music from MacEwan University, she has performed at many Edmonton venues, including the Kaleido Arts Festival, the Station on Jasper, SkirtsaFire Festival, and Flying Canoe Volant. In 2021 she was selected by Tiny Lights Festival out of Ymir, BC to take part in their Ignites Series workshop. Graduating in 2023, she received the Victor-Osten Performing Arts Award and was awarded Best Traditional Studio Recording at the 2020 University of Lethbridge Audio Engineering Society Competition.
