When an artist has been making music for nearly three decades, every single captivating moment of their new material speaks volumes to those experiences that happen along the way. For Richard Bandini, a Spanish-American Chicago-based musician best known as the frontman and guitar player of Bandini, that legacy bears fruit with every song he produces. Born to play and create, he has never looked back since he started playing with his brothers in a group called Kaplan at age 14, performing at international festivals such as Festimad, Benicassim, or BAM. Those were the first tentative steps in a career that has seen him work with artists such as Inhabitants, Julio de la Rosa, Manuel Cabezalí, Charlie Bautista, Ted Clyde and the New 35s. The influence of his Spanish heritage is undeniable as the musicality of his releases traverses the rich textures of Alt and Indie Rock, Indie-pop, and Sadcore. Continuing to also play with Phil Yates and the Affiliates, in 2021 as the pandemic stopped the world in its tracks, Bandini reached across the transatlantic pond to begin work on his new album titled ‘A Hymn to the Beauty of Silhouettes’. Combined with the talents of long-time collaborator and studio engineer Paco Loco from Cadiz, this collection of songs represents a sonic journey that will engage the mind as well as the soul. Join him on his journey of incredible soundscapes and find a world that is simply unique, authentic, and the rarest of musical treasures.
