Cryptolog

Dallas’ Cryptolog blends a mix of shimmering reverb with catchy, melodic, indie pop. Named after the NSA's classified newsletter, Cryptolog formed in 2014 with Jerome Brock (guitar/vocals) and Brian McKay (guitar/vocals) both formerly of Memphis band Jetty Webb, Frank Pittenger of the Lucky Pierres on drums, Charlie Begue on bass, and multi-instrumentalist, Kim Herriage, also of the Lucky Pierres. Their 2015 debut EP, Somewhere Else, was produced by Grammy winner Stuart Sikes and includes the song 'Inside A Wall' which featured regularly on KXT Radio in Dallas. Also on the debut ‘Perseus’ was selected for Josey Record’s limited-edition vinyl for their 2016 Record Store Day celebration. Following the release was their single 'Missing Hours' and second EP, 'Picture Day,' in late 2017. In 2020, the band recorded new material at Brock’s Consolvo Studios and released three singles during the year. In early 2021, ‘Do Me a Favor (Blind Love)’ was a feature 'Song of the Day' on Austin’s KUTX radio and a Singles Club release on label We Know Better Records. Single 'Temptation' helped promote their debut Rented Rooms. A string of new singles in 2023, 'Strange Holiday’ (feat. Catho) and 'Vertical Hold' led to an invite to play with Midlake for a Record Store Day event at GoodRecords in Dallas. ‘Trapeze (feat. Catho)’ released in November 2024 was featured on KXT Homegrown hour. The single preceded their follow up album, ‘Time with You.’ ✨
