Ife Ogunjobi is a London raised musician born to Nigerian parents whose music is an amalgamation of the sounds around his upbringing. Growing up in South East London, his surroundings have enriched his music with various genres such as Jazz, Afrobeat and Hip-hop. Influenced by the likes of Fela Kuti, Erykah Badu and Roy Hargrove, his musical concept removes the barriers between the different genres of music and portrays his authentic sound. Ife’s debut EP “Stay True” released September 14th 2023 is him authentically staying true to his roots and upbringing. Blending Fuji and Afrobeats influences from his Nigerian heritage with Jazz and Hip Hop elements that influenced his London upbringing. This vibrant, dynamic EP is rooted in being unapologetically yourself through triumphant and uplifting melodies, invigorating grooves, virtuosic solos and irresistible beats. A vital contributor to the London scene, Ife is one fifth of the band Ezra Collective who won the 2023 Mercury Prize for their album “Where I’m Meant to Be”. Ife has also worked with Afrobeat pioneers Burna Boy and Wizkid both live and in the studio performing at iconic venues such as the O2 Arena London and Madison Square Garden in New York. He also worked on their latest albums “More Love, Less Ego” (Wizkid) and “I Told Them” (Burna Boy) which went No.1 in the UK.
