JRynecki (John Rynecki) is a DJ and music producer from Chicago and Panama on a mission to inspire, teach, and make the world a better place through the benefits and values of electronic dance music. As a Panamanian-American growing up abroad, John was exposed to international sounds at a young age; salsa, merengue in Latin America in the ’90s, electronic music in Europe in the mid-2000s. Infused with an Americana third culture upbringing, he found his ability to relate to others without speaking. As he discovered the electronic music scene in his early 20s, music became one of the many ways he learned how to make an impact on the world. Learning how to DJ and moving to Chicago after college, John was warmly embraced by community and became a part of the electronic dance music scene in the city that established House music. The original values of nightlife culture - Peace, Love, Unity, and Respect, made a profound impact on him and his worldview and naturally carried into the way he performs and his ethos as a DJ. Having experienced many beautiful moments under a DJ’s spell, completely present-minded and entranced, it’s a goal of his to impart presentness to others and give that feeling back. Now in a world full of distractions, giving someone the space to outsmart their smartphone is the best gift of all.
