Mia Edsall

Mia’s music is country oriented meshed with folk, blues and rock and roll. Her influences include Merle Haggard, Mary Gauthier, Ruthie Foster, woody Guthrie and the Rolling Stones. As a banjoist, she plays fiddle tunes in Old Time jams. She learned to play and sing by ear with her father during the "Great American Folk Scare." At 19 she moved west to Ketchum Idaho to ski in lieu of college much to chagrin of her educated mother. She has written more than 150 songs and continues to write and perform. She has performed solo and with a band in Festivals in the Northwest and has been a finalist in several songwriting contests. She has published LP's with mostly original material. She currently plays Idaho shows in a duo called NoCheapHorses with another banjo player with more of a Bluegrass vibe.
