Muscle Tough

Muscle Tough specializes in a heavily improvised blend of modal jazz, funk, and rocking psychedelia. Their creative use of sound design and group-minded improvisation blurs the line between their originals and the quirky pop classics they stretch out on. In 2022 Muscle Tough released their first fully scripted music video, and toured through the Fall and Winter. Created in lockdown and released in 2021, “Tough Transmissions”, is a collection of hilariously titled 1-minute songs, showcasing the trios lack of musical boundaries and deep comedic undercurrents. With a revolving door of guests including members of Phish, MMW, Dopapod, Lotus, Snarky Puppy, a recent collaboration with DJ Logic and The Horn Section, and a reputation for their sprawling late-night sets, Muscle Tough invites audiences around the world to GET TOUGH!
