Oryad

Aardschok declared that with their debut album SACRED & PROFANE, Oryad "found its niche in mysterious, symphonic metal with operatesque, bur- lesque and jazzy touches...what a debut!" The music of this progressive doom opera ensemble has been described as "undefinable as it is immediate, visceral, and incredibly emotional," and containing a "delicate brutality" by critics across the globe and earned a place in the Best of 2023 lists compiled by Metal Digest, Kyle Finlan, Heavy Debriefings, and more. Featuring shredding riffs, hypnotic drums, and operatic vocals, Oryad delves into the shadows of grief and metaphysical questioning. These musicians have come together from jazz clubs and rock garages, nationwide party bandstands, and international opera stages to form this project. Moira Murphy has performed on opera stages across the United States and abroad, as well as worked as a pianist and keyboardist for the last decade.
