Splendidula

Splendidula is an Atmospheric Black/Doom band from Belgium formed in 2008. The self-titled debut album was released in 2013 (later followed by a reissue on CD and vinyl by Argonauta Records). Post Mortem, the second album, was released in 2018 by Inverse Records and Dust & Bones Records. A worldwide record deal was inked with Italian powerhouse label Argonauta Records for the release of the third full album Somnus in 2021. The album was mixed by Tim De Gieter at Much Luv Studio (Amenra, Brutus, etc.) and mastered by Grammy Award winning engineer Alan Douches at West West Side Music (Sepultura, Mastodon, Motörhead, Fleetwood Mac, Pantera, Cannibal Corpse, etc.). It was very well received both by fans and (inter)national press, which led to a reissue on vinyl. Somnus was also released on tape in South America by Ruidoteka Records. Unfortunately Splendidula was faced with the sudden passing of bassist Peter in 2022. Both guitarists found it impossible to carry on and Kristien (vocalist) & Joachim (drummer) found 3 new band members. The music took on a darker, more intense direction. A new single will be released in 2024 as a bonustrack on the CD reissue of Somnus. The single will also be released as deluxe 8” vinyl by Saturni Records. The preorders for this special edition sold out in less than 3 days! At the end of 2024 a new full album will be recorded.
