Subtension

Mário Dočekal, born in 1992, known as Subtension, has already made his mark on the history of renowned global drum & bass labels such as Ram Records, Critical Music, Neosignal, Renegade Hardware, Cause 4 Concern, and Invisible (VISION), despite his young age. His tracks are featured in worldwide radios (BBC Radio 1, Noisia radio etc.) and in DJ sets by artists like Pendulum, Noisia, Amon Tobin (Two Fingers), Mefjus, Roni Size, and many others. He has performed his project in nearly all European countries, the UK (Fabric London, Berghain - Berlin), and even the USA. He is also a two-time recipient of the Radio_Head Awards, winning statues for Best Electronic Record in 2018 and 2021. His studies in film sound have influenced his musical production, with his tracks often experimenting with cinematic atmospheres and soundscapes. During the pandemic, Subtension released the experimental electronic EP Stranger, which in two instances integrates visuals with music. Currently, in addition to production and DJing, he runs a modern music school, LFO.sk.
