Country / Country
Imagine a 10-year-old girl, full of spirit, stepping up to the mic at the famed GX94 contest in 2002. This enormous challenge took her on a whirlwind journey through numerous towns, battling through elimination rounds, and finally to the spotlight on the grand finale night. And then, she sang the final note of "A Broken Wing" by Martina McBride, sparking a thunderous wave of cheers and applause that shook the venue! It was Teagan Littlechief’s debut standing ovation, but oh, it was just the beginning! She etched her name in history as the first from the First Nations community to clinch the GX94 title, marking the start of an extraordinary series of firsts, all with her Cree pride held high. Inspired by Pop sensations Celine Dion and the late Selena, it is Country Music where Teagan found her comfort zone. Those early influences of Celine and Selena can still be heard today through Teagan's powerhouse vocals, and lack of fear to hit those high notes others fear to. Teagan has built her audience playing many Festivals, Bow Valley Jamboree Music Festival, Muskoday Music Festive, Craven, and Country Thunder to name a few. In 2022 Teagan played one of the largest events in Canada; the 109th Canadian Grey Cup. There Teagan sang the National Anthem in 3 languages: English, French and Cree, making herself part of history. Littlechief is a passionate advocate for bringing awareness to Domestic Abuse and the effects of Substance abuse.
