Wormwitch

Employing a lethal blend of black metal, doom, punk, and straight-up savage rock & roll, Canada's Wormwitch draw inspiration from a wide array of artists, including Celtic Frost, Disfear, and Darkthrone. Based out of Vancouver, British Columbia, the quartet was founded in 2015 by Colby Hink (guitar), Kyle Shields (bass), Max Vüst (drums), and Robin Harris (vocals). They released their debut EP, The Long Defeat, in 2015 and caught the attention of Prosthetic Records, which quickly signed the group. Strike Mortal Soil, the band's punishing debut long-player, was released in 2017; two years later they followed it with Heaven Dwells Within with a substantially different lineup. The revamped quartet issued Wolf Hex in 2021, followed by a split EP with Sadistic Ritual in March 2024. In July, Wormwitch issued an eponymous long-player on Profound Lore as a trio with Harris, drummer Izzy Langlais, and guitarist Hink. ~ James Christopher Monger, Rovi
